A HUGE Blessing

Do you remember that we were allowed to borrow this van from a local family? Well, a couple of weeks ago we ran into some insurance issues with it, so we called the owner and told him about the problem. We were fully expecting, and prepared, to stop using the van, but instead the owner asked if he could come over to discuss the problem.

When he arrived that evening he told us he thought the best way to solve the insurance problem was just to give us the van. We asked how much he wanted for it he said "nothing"!!!

Not only was he generous to give us the van, he has had it serviced for us and will be paying for the repairs it needs.

What a blessing it has been to travel around the area freely and especially how it has made our journey to church a lot easier.

We thank the Lord, again, for his constant and marvelous provision for us, and the man and his family for their very generous gift.

We have been truly blessed.

I just had to post this!!

Someone we know had to find a place to store their drum kit ... so Gary offered our home!! It sits in a corner of the school room and thankfully most of the time there is no one living in the rooms above, so there are no complaints about the noise level.

Deanna has had fun playing with them and I just thought the picture was too cute. And yes, if you look closely you will notice the black spot under her chin. That is the label of her t-shirt which she is wearing inside out and back to front ;-)

Damp

I am not one that often reads in bed, but the other night I did. When I had finished reading I laid the book on the floor next to the bed. When I picked the book up the next day to put it away I was amazed at what I saw ...

I know we live in a damp climate, and have had roof leaks but this was incredible. In just 8 hours my book had been warpped by the moisture in the carpet.

On the brighter side, both Gary and I really enjoy the climate here. We have not even made it to 70 degrees yet this year. Actually the average high in the Summer is only 68!! Most of this month we have still worn jackets as the temperature remains in the 50's.

We love it!!

Bartacelli

The good part in the children not having many toys here (due to shipping delays) is that they use their imaginations and creativity a lot more.

Currently they have a pet fly called "Bartacelli". The kids had 'lost' him a few days ago and just now a fly suddenly flew through the apartment. All the kids came running in "Quick, quick, there's Bartacelli. Close all the windows. Don't let him escape!!"

Gary helped in the capture of their dear pet. They are now deciding what to feed him and Deanna just came in saying "I LOVE my Bartacelli!!!"

Oh the gift of imagination!

Listening to the Sermon

As we have been looking for a church home Gary and I have had many discussions about what we wanted in a church. Ideally we would like to be part of a family integrated church, but are unable to find one in the Leeds area. The reasons for wanting to be involved with a family integrated church are many (I will address those on another post or you can read about them here). Having said that we are happy with the church that the Lord has led us to. While they do have segregated church with children's Sunday School in the morning, they do not make any provisions for the children in the evening. This is great for us as it gives us a chance to worship the Lord as a family.

We have had many say "It is not worth the children being in Church during the sermon because they don't listen, because they can't understand". While it is true that they often don't understand, it isn't true that they don't listen. We had proof of this last week. Deanna, who is only 3, 'appeared' not to be listening during the sermon, when all of a sudden she looked up to me and said "Mom, he said 'stupid!". She was listening!!
