Are we all to 'GO'?
Almost immediately upon arriving in Japan I was handed a book to read titled 'Radical' by David Platt, which I highly recommend that everyone read. I have been wanting to talk about this book here on the blog, as well as, I have wanted to expand on the topic I was talking about at the end of my last post 'Japan', but have not been able to get my words together to do so. My Pastor brought a sermon before the church on this topic this past Sunday in which he handled this subject far better than I could have ever done, so I have embedded it below. Please take the time to listen and ponder on what God is saying to His church through His Word.

Obedience
Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses.....
Exodus 4:10-14
Exodus 4:10-14
How many of us are saying NO to God? What kind of excuses are you using? Are you saying, No God I can't leave my family; No God I have a good job; No God, people are depending on me here; No God, I just got everything the way I like it; No God, I am comfortable!!!! No God ______________! (You fill in the blank)
Just remember, God is still calling and He expects us all to obey. Just like He did Moses, Abraham, Jonah, David, Paul, Peter, and Yes even Jesus.

Praising God
“Sing forth the honour of his name, make his praise glorious.”
- Psa_66:2
"It is not left to our own option whether we shall praise God or not. Praise is God’s most righteous due, and every Christian, as the recipient of his grace, is bound to praise God from day to day."Spurgeon

Fighter Verses
Recently the Lord has laid it on our hearts to get serious about scripture memorization.
I have really enjoyed memorizing scripture - it has not been easy, but the truths that I have discovered are incredible. It is wonderful to be able to meditate on these during the day and learn more and more about the nature of God and what it means to live a Christian life.
We have found the Fighter Verses from Desiring God a helpful tool in this endeavor.
While it is good for me to memorize scripture, I have to admit there is something very sweet about hearing your children recite scripture - especially when it comes from the mouth of a 2 year old!
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil...and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:10, 17

What are our beliefs?
Doctrinal Beliefs
- We believe the Bible, the inspired Word of God, is completely trustworthy, speaking with supreme authority in all matters of belief and practice.
- We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- We believe all people, being created in the image of God, have intrinsic value, but as a result of sin are alienated from God and each other, and therefore in need of reconciliation.
- We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, is fully God and fully human; He demonstrated God's love for sinners by suffering the penalty of death in their place, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where He intercedes for His people.
- We believe all who repent and trust in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior are, by the grace of God, declared to be right with Him, receiving forgiveness and eternal life.
- We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will return personally in glory, raise the dead, and judge the world.
- We believe all people will rise from the dead, those who are in Christ to enjoy eternal life with God, and those who are lost to suffer eternal separation from Him.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit who imparts new life to those who believe in Christ; through His indwelling presence and transforming power He gives assurance and equips believers for holy living and effective service.
- We believe the Church is the body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers, and is commissioned to make disciples of all nations.
