Out of the mouth of babes
A couple of weeks ago Deanna, Jeremiah, Naomi and myself were riding the bus home after church. We were on the top deck of the double decker bus and were all alone up there. After a while the bus pulled over to pick up passengers. They made there way upstairs and as they were finding their seats Deanna said to me (pointing and in a very loud voice) "Mom are those people sinners?" (She already knows she is!!) After the initial shock that my daughter would say something like that I was able to respond - but not as loudly as she asked!! I told her that they were, that everyone is a sinner. So she proceeded to look out the window and started pointing to people as she asked "Are they sinners, Mom? What about those people?"
I hope, as she grows, she will continue to be bold and won't be embarrassed (like most of us are) to share her faith with others.

Haha--that is totally hilarious!!! Yes, out of the mouths of babes--you gotta love it :)
Ok so let me get this straight - if people don't believe what you believe in they are sinners? Where do people like you get off? This is why the world has problems.
Love it--truly, out of the mouth of babes and children!
Nicole,
If we have broken just one of God's commandments (Exodus 20) then we have sinned. It doesn't matter that we have not murdered someone (Exodus 20:13), or committed adultery (Exodus 20:14) because James 2:10 states that "Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it". So, consequently if you (like me) have ever told a lie (Exodus 10:16), or wanted what someone else has (Exodus 20:17) then you are guilty and have sinned. So, whether we are Christians or not, we are still all sinners "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". (Romans 3:23)
"What shall we conclude then? Are we (Christians) any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are under sin. As it is written:
There is no-one righteous, not even one; there is no-one who understands, no-one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no-one who does good, not even one." (Romans 3:9-12)
The sad part is that there is punishment for our sins and we all deserve it as we have separated ourselves from God because of our sin. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this, While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8) Christ, by dying on the cross, took the punishment that we deserve.
"God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 9:10)
So, yes we are all sinners (including me), but Christ has paid the price and taken the punishment for our sins. To accept His gift of eternal life we have to acknowledge that we are sinners and accept that Christ died for us and took the punishment for our sins. When we recognize that Christ is our Savior and allow him to be Lord of our lives, then we are saved and can enjoy life with Him, now and for eternity.
I am still a sinner, but forgiven by the grace of God through the death and resurrection of Christ, my Savior. For that I am forever grateful.
The new header is great!
