Nicholas to the Rescue

I looked out of the kitchen window to see Nicholas hanging from a tree.  I went out to see what he was up to and discovered he was being Naomi's hero.  She had let her balloon go and Nicholas wanted to retrieve it for her.

As he got closer to the top, my mother's heart was crying out to 'be careful' and 'come back down, it's not worth getting hurt just for a balloon', but ... I was able to keep silent and let my boy act like a young man and do something heroic for his sister.

Thankfully, the mission was successful.  The balloon was rescued, Nicholas was safe and he became a hero in his sister's eyes.

I understand. Many times I also let my son do some little unsafe work, to make him confident. But it's true some times he get hurts. And my attitude sometime make him over confident and make him do dangerous work.
